In December 1998, “Grampi’s” first opened as a Mexican restaurant.
These days we pamper our guests with fine Italian cuisine.
The name “Grampi” is from Zermatt dialect, meaning ‘guideless climber’. The term originates from the French & English word “crampon”.
In the beginnings of mountaineering, mountain guides didn’t like putting on & buckling the fiddly crampons. However, the ‘guileless climber’ made use of them all of the time.
